Isabella Country House is a small friendly hotel/apartments resort situated nearly eight kilometers from the historical center of Corfu and 400 meters from the tourist village of Gouvia.

The resort consists of two large villas built in a beautiful garden plot of 5000 sq.m., planted with olive trees, lemon trees, palm trees and various kinds of flowers. The surroundings offer an ideal place for calm, rest and contact with nature.


A swimming pool, children's playground, private parking and a garden bar are also available for the residents.

Isabella Country House offers a friendly, pleasant and family atmosphere, so that the residents relax and feel at home. The environment is ideal if you dream of a holiday where you can relax, lying under a tree, listen to the birds singing and smell the wild flowers. The area where Isabella Country House is situated offers the opportunity for various activities, such as nature walks, visits to nearby picturesque villages, bicycle rides, swimming, water sports, golf, tennis and horse riding.

And if you would like to eat in a fancy restaurant or have a drink in a music bar you will only have to walk for five minutes and find yourself to the center of the tourist village of Gouvia.


Accommodation description

Studio Flat: one double/twin bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, veranda.
Two Bedroom Apartment: two double/twin bedrooms or one bedroom and a living room, bathroom, kitchen, veranda.




In total there are 12 fully furnished apartments, of which 7 are studio flats and 5 are two-bedroom apartments. All are equipped with separate WC (most of the apartments also have a bath-tub), fully equipped kitchenette, A/C, TV, refridgerator and veranda.
The rooms are decorated in a country style with traditional materials such as wood and stone, so that they are in complete harmony with their natural environment. The view form the verandas is spectacular. Some rooms have views to the sea and others to the beautiful garden.


Once a week a barbecue night is organized in the garden bar for the residents. It is an opportunity to meet with each other and have dinner all together al fresco. The menu includes the traditional souvlaki, grilled steak and chichen, greek salads, tzatziki, wine, fruits and coffee.

Upon request, a night of traditional Corfiot cuisine can also be organized.
Corfiot specialties such as pastitsada, sofrito, bourdeto or bianco shall be cooked especially for you and your guests and offer you an unforgettable dinner.


Weddings at Isabella Country House
If you wish to organize a unique wedding on the island of Corfu, Isabella Country House can undertake anything you need for the wedding of your dreams. In the exquisite garden under the palm trees and around the flowers we can organize the reception of your wedding. We will take care of all the details so that you live a unique wedding experience. In the furnished apartments you can host your family and friends, while the wedding suite will be at the disposal of the newly wedds. The menu of the reception will be organized according to your needs with the cooperation of a five star hotel catering.

If you wish, we can also undertake other details, such as booking the church or town hall, decorations, bouquet, make-up and hairdressing of the bride, transfer of the couple to and from the church and the reception, photographer and video, booking of traditional "trovadouroi" (traditional singers) to escort the newly wedds.
The Isabella Country House will also undertake the music for your reception and promises you a magic evening under the stars in a private and beautiful environment. An evening on the most beautiful Ionian island which you will never forget!


About Gouvia

On the East coast of Corfu island, opposite the Greek mainland.
8 km NorthWest of Corfu Town and airport.
Gouvia is the largest yachting marina of Corfu and the launching point of most of the island's flotilla and bareboat holidays.

General Description:
At around 4 km long and 1 km wide, Gouvia has become one of the most popular tourist destinations on the island, offering both lively night-life and quiet hillside spots. The resort has a definite nautical ambience, it boasts a large yachting marina and was once an historic Venetian naval base. At one end of the beach you will find a ruined Venetian arsenal and the precariously beached wreck of a yacht. Adjoining Gouvia is the quiet village of Kontokali, while 1 km inland is Danilia, a purpose-built, Greek-style village where folklore performances are organised for evening trips.

Beach information:
The Gouvia beach is clean althouth due to the large bay shape the shingle beach it is sometimes covered with seaweed. A mile away there is also the blue flag beach of Kontokali. Beach facilities include sunbeds and umbrellas, showers and toilets. Sun loungers and sun shade costs about 6Euro for two. The beach is very accessible from either end of the village. A circular walk can be made to and from the beach on a tarmac surface. As with many Corfiot beaches it is child friendly but supervision is required. The centre of the beach is safer than the sides - boat hire and motor sports take place near the sides.

Daytime: beach and water-based activities including para-gliding, diving and a variety of other water sports, boat trips, horse riding, exploring local countryside.
Nightlife: lively tavernas, cocktail and sports bars, clubs, mainly along the main road.
Eating out: good-value snack bars, Greek tavernas serving traditional fare, pasta restaurants and pizzerias, Chinese and Tex-Mex options. British cuisine is widely available. But if you want to get the full Corfiot flavour you do need to try Greek dishes.
Public transport: Regular buses to Corfu Town and the Dassia route. A long-distance service operates between Corfu Town and the northern resorts.


Gouvia Bay Marina
Located in the closed bay of Gouvia about 3 miles north of Corfu town. When approaching from Corfu's northern channel the islet of Lazaretto is a landmark about a mile south of the entrance. The channel is demarcated by 2 pairs of lighted buoys, with depths 8 to 9 meters in the middle. The marina is surrounded by a developed tourist area full of restaurants, bars and hotels within walking distance of the 2 entrances. The center of Corfu town is about 7 km away. There is regular bus service on the main road, a short distance from the marina entrances. The actual construction of the present Marina began in 1996. The first phase of development increased the capacity to 960 berths. The construction of four modern and luxurius WCs, fuel station, super market, restaurant, and the public servises building has already been completed. The second phase, includes an administration building, swimming pool, shoping center, etc. Today the Marina has matured to offer a level of facilities for yaghting and motor cruising enthusiast, that would be hard to surpass. At the basic level the pontoon berths are suplied with electricity and fresh water.The fuel station, the super market, laundry service and the Coastguard and Hellenic Tourism Organization offices are ready to fulfil most of the customers needs. A great emphasis is given to security with 24 hour security patrols guarding berthing areas and a private security company operating at the entrances.


Getting to Gouvia
Isabella Country House is situated within a 9 km distance from Corfu International Airport Ioannis Kapodistrias. The airport is daily connected with Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as the largest European cities during the spring and summer months. The easiest way to Isabella Country House from the airport is by taxi. One way fare from the airport should cost about 12 Euro.
The Port of Corfu is within a distance of 7 km from Isabella Country House. Taxis and buses to Gouvia are available from the port. Following the National Road Corfu-Paleokastritsa you can easily reach Isabella Country House.
