Welcome to the sunny island of Cyprus.
Cyprus is the most famous island on the Mediterranean Sea and easily captures the visitors interest thanks to the great variety of choices offered.
The third largest island in the Mediterranean, Cyprus is situated in the easternmost corner and is therefore known as the stepping-stone between the three continents.
As from May 2004 Cyprus is a full member of the European Community.
It is an island that has successfully managed to combine romance with history and sophistication with tradition.

In Cyprus there is something for everyone.
Its Mediterranean cuisine, sun-drenched beaches, peaceful and fragrant mountains with old charming villages, vineyards, olive trees, citrus groves and friendly locals, all make Cyprus the ideal place for a relaxing and/or romantic holiday.
For those interested in something more fast-paced and active there are all types of sports available - water sports, snorkelling, hiking and even skiing in the winter - while the evenings can be spent enjoying the cosmopolitan cafes, bars and clubs found throughout all the major cities.
Rich in history and culture yet complete with modern amenities, the island is irresistible to travellers of all ages and interests, attracting over 3 million visitors a year.

Cyprus packs a remarkable array of sights and attractions into such a small space:
museums and archaeological sites that span more than five millennia of history,
throbbing beach resorts,
medieval fortresses,
age-old temples standing on empty hillsides,
cool mountain forests and pretty valleys chequered with vineyards,
grain fields and olive groves all complete the landscape.

On an island where one can swim and ski all in the same day, this is truly a holiday paradise with something for everyone.

Admire the view at Maa-Paleokastro, the site on a peninsula near Coral Bay, where the Mycenaean Greeks first landed in Cyprus in the Bronze Age.
Explore inland by going on a wine tour of the villages, stopping off at Chrysorrogiatissa monastery with its fine icons where you can get a taste of the locally produced vintage wine from its own winery.
Or indulge in one of the many activities available, from playing a round of golf at a premier golf resort, indulging in a sea sport, such as swimming, diving or sailing, or going for the thrill of a water park or karting centre.
Head for the Polis area, where you can experience a back-to-basics lifestyle staying in one of the many renovated traditional houses from where you can explore the countryside.
The Akamas peninsula is an area of natural wilderness with dramatic coastlines and sandy coves.
Visit one of the last Mediterranean nesting grounds for the green and loggerhead turtles on the sandy beaches of Lara. Or walk along one of the many scenic nature trails spotting rare endemic plants that grow there, or watching migrating birds fly by overhead.
